ABOUT PHIL KERR
I've been working in Production for nigh-on 20 years. I have worked with two of the largest and busiest Production companies outside of London - The Gate Films and Mob Films as Senior Producer. Commercials, branded content, corporate films, music videos. You name it, I worked on it.
Past projects include big campaigns for Manchester United FC, Manchester City FC, William Hill, McDonalds, and hundreds of commercials and content pieces across fashion, retail, business, education, and technology. I’ve filmed in Europe, Africa, America, and Asia, as well as facilitating in the UK for clients from all over the world.
The collaboration required for production (well, for really good production) is unique. I get to work with brilliant creative people on every project; each perspective is completely different. Often I have to help navigate and negotiate the middle ground between those strong creative opinions. This brings a variety and freshness to the average working day that just doesn’t exist anywhere else.
In 2019 I decided to go it alone as a gun for hire. I’ve stepped outside my comfort zone, and even though I’m on familiar ground I never know what’s in store when the phone rings.
I’ve been living and working in Manchester for pushing two decades now, so I’m very much an adoptive Northerner. Before that, I grew up in rural Essex, indulging my passions for football and film. Whilst at school I fell in love with cinema, specifically Shane Meadow’s TwentyFourSeven (1997).
Outside of work, I am a father of two and husband of one. I’d love to say that I read lots of novels, practice Yoga, and enjoy time in the garden, but I mainly build Lego, read Harry Potter, and watch Disney movies. Sometimes with the kids.
